We've Been Helping Boaters For More Than A Century.
My great-grandfather, R.G. Brewer, of Mamaroneck opened his chandlery and
hardware store in 1879, beginning a long tradition of personal service
to professional and recreational boat owners, sailors and fishermen.
In 1964 we wanted to provide more of that tried and true personal
service to more boaters, so we acquired the boat yard out back. It
became known as Post Road Boat Yard and before long was known as
one of the premier boat yards in its area. It remains the first of 21 Brewer
Yards now located from New York to Maine.
Over the next 40 years we learned a lot about running boat yards and
providing service to yachtsmen. We learned the importance of professional staff and
immaculately maintained facilities, the need for top flight riggers,
carpenters and mechanics, the benefits of constant formal training and
the best equipment and tools. We learned to anticipate our customers'
needs, to pay close attention to detail, to always follow through. And
we learned how to get things right the first time.
We invite you to see for yourself what 120 years of service experience
can mean for you and your boat. Stop in and be sure
to ask for a tour of our facilities. You'll be glad you did.
John (Jack) Brewer Jr.
