The 2007 sailing school brochure went out to our mailing list of past participants in mid-February. In the Junior Sailing Program, for youth ages 8 – 18, as of April 17th, Sessions #2 and #3 are already full while Session #4 has several spaces still open. These are the two week sessions. Session #1 has just a few spaces left and Session #5 is starting to fill up – these are the one week sessions. Racing Session #1 is filled up and Racing Session #2 still has a few spaces available. Please call ASAP if you are interesting in signing up your young sailors! It is a very fun, safe, developmental program; all Jr. Instructors are experienced US Sailing certified instructors.

For the Adult Sailing Program, our Colgate 26 goes in the water at the beginning of June and will be ready for private or group lessons up to 4 people. If you haven’t experienced sailing or the Colgate 26 before, you will be amazed at how comfortable, easy and fun to sail this boat is. Even though it’s a fun boat to race, it was designed specifically to teach adults how to sail. Among other things, you will learn how to safely and efficiently leave and return to the dock; control the boat under various wind conditions, sailing terms, seamanship and rules of the road. If you already own a boat, you can request instruction on your own boat and focus on getting to know the boat better or a specific maneuver like docking, or sail trim, or planning your first cruise.
